Road to Santiago Spanish Language and Camino Culture Course
May 27 - June 7, 2013 (Repeated September 30 - October 11, 2013)
This pioneering program is a multidisciplinary approach in the study of the Camino de Santiago and the improvement of your Spanish. It offers the opportunity to experience the magic of the Camino and walk the final stretch of this ancient route. A University professor accompanies the group and gives walking seminars about art and history of the Camino.
The two-week course includes:
- 40 lecture hours at USC (1 week)
- 6 days walking along the Galician section of the French Way.
- Seminars on the Camino de Santiago
- Spanish language course and introduction to Galician culture
- Professors from USC Faculty of Language, History, Arts, Culture & Geography
- Intensive cultural programme: mobile classroom, guided tours, workshops, gourmet trail, official receptions
- Accommodation, meals and health insurance in Santiago de Compostela and during the walk

Celebrate St. James Day with the Confraternity of Saint James during the Confraternity's 30th year! The series of events starts at 2:00 p.m. with a tapas lunch at Don Pepe (99 Frampton Street, London NW8 8NA). Then a walk takes you to St. James Spanish Place for a special guided tour to learn the history of the church and to see some of its treasures. Then tea and at 7:00 p.m. a patronal Mass followed by refreshments in the parish hall.

Confraternity of St. James the Elder the Apostle in Krakow – Wieclawice Stare is pleased to announce the The World Meeting of the Confraternities and Societies of St. James and the VI International Scientific Conference entitled "1200 years of Pilgrimage to the Grave of St James in Santiago de Compostela", 5 to 8 September 2013.
The conference is a global meeting devoted entirely to the origins and operation of the Way of St. James and the development of the Apostle’s cult throughout the world. The principal objectives of the conference being organized will be:
- Presentations by the National and Regional Associations and the Confraternities of St. James (the history, accomplishments and achievements, ideas and plans).
- A mutual exchange of information on achievements in the field of research and organizational activities related to the cult of St. James in the world.
- Promoting the concept of going on the Pilgrim Way of St. James – the most important Christian pilgrimage route in Europe.
- Celebrating the 1200th Anniversary of the discovery of the relics of St. James in Santiago de Compostela.
- Lectures on the renaissance of the Camino de Santiago during the last three decades.
- Workshops related to the organization of the Camino de Santiago in various European Regions and throughout the world.

This course is focused on the basic cultural and linguistic knowledge that not Spanish speakers need to perform the hospitalero service. It is a one week course and includes:
